Yes this was the discussion in the breed notes in DW last week, the decrease in numbers at shows in rotts is due to the decrease in registration numbers and so will be even less as time goes on as those numbers only dropped at the first quarter of this year so the earlier pups born only just coming of show age now.

Its been this way in GSDs for some time, they did a survey of numbers last year & general champ shows in the main got less than breed specialist shows & the shows with the lowest numbers were in Scotland & Kent, but if you just go on numbers you'll finish up withall shows being between the Manchester & Leedsin the North to Bershire Somerset in the south which seems very unfair to exhibitors fro Kent, Cornwall The outer reaches of Wales, & Scotland. Not really sure what the answer is. Know one thing though it will never be like it used to be when I first started showing with 30 or more dogs in Maiden at a Championship show & 40 + in puppy & Jonior.
