Dog poo willl disintegrate eventually but leaving it around is not a good thing to do because it is a breeding ground for flies ,it will also spread worms and other diseases .
Leaving it may also prompt you puppy to 'investigate' it and maybe even get into a habit of eating poo so it is best for all concerned to clear it up as soon as it is deposited.

Hi,
I think that's what one of my neighbours thought, they had a back garden full of it,it was going moldy,it was disgusting and the smell was awful.
They had a visit from enviromental health saying it should all be cleaned up pronto!
our's is cleaned up and goes in the bin

I pick it up with a metal dust pan, and put it in a bin bag for it to be thrown away with the rest of the garbage.

I'll just keep doing this for now.

If only that were true!

No, unfortunately it is one of those yucky things that just has to be done I'm afraid - if I left Ozzys there'd be nowhere left for him to 'go' - it's like picking up after a Shetland pony!

Try the scented nappy sacks - you can pick the poo up using the bag as a glove and just folding it over and tying it up - great and very easy :O)

Yes, I use those too and they are also cheaper to buy than the 'proper' poop-bags. :smt023

Can I kind of sidetrack the thread a little? Hope you don't mind, ILMS

Anyone used those dog 'loos'? They're something like a perforated bucket which you dig down into the ground, then add chemicals(?) of some description and the poop is apparently broken down and washes away into the sublayers of the soil through the perforations. I'm not sure I've got that completely right, but would be interested to hear if anyone's used them. I appreciate you obviously still have to pick up the poop but at least I could do so with a shovel (with a nice long handle) and save all those nappy sacks!
