Yet another problem.... (sorry)

Oh how I wish I had never reformatted my pc.. I seem to be getting one problem after another.

The latest one, is really serious. My screen is flashing. When I say flashing, I mean that I will be looking at the webpage one minute, and then it will flash - black and then display the webpage again. It has been doing this on and off all day.

So to try and remidy this I have checked the following:

Firewall settings - all OK and nothing changed
Spyware chekced - all clear there
Virus checked - all clear there
Display settings - set to windows default now, but have tried lower res...
Driver updated for my graphics card and Display drivers checked
I have even changed monitors in the event the other one is on the blink.

Ok, so now I'm stuck...

Any advice, no matter how big or small would be greatly appreciated... Thanks

it's ok I've found it in the properties. Have changed it to 85Hz now and waiting for the screen to go black... so far I've managed to type this whole sentence without it happening, so maybe thats done the trick

Keeping fingers crossed........

He is good. I've had lots of little probs with my pc lately, and Roy has always answered me.

Sadly, though my screen has started to flash again I really thought that had sorted it, but nope. It's happening again.

i can't believe that it stopped for an hour and has started again. Whats going on? I have checked the refresh rate, and that hasn't changed from the 85Hz. I'm so annoyed now that I feel like putting a jigsaw through the HD and making jigsaws with it. Probably be a lot of fun, thinking about it

Sorry, been building my new PC and installing XP on it.
Takes a while to format a 250Gb drive

Can you reduce the Refresh rate to less than that ? eg 72 or 75 Hz ?
