Family dog wanted

Hi I am new on here, our family - me, hubby and kids aged 7 and 11 are looking to add another dog to our household. We have a lively 18 month old neutered springer/collie cross. he's very playful and bouncy and would love a playmate.
Ideally a small young dog that likes a good run at the beach, would be okay around cows/sheep and horses and would love a good cuddle at the end of the day. If you have any ideas, we would be very appreciative as have been looking a while now and could do with some help.
We are in North Devon but don't mind travelling a few miles.

I'd say get a Shih tzu but I'm biased

Since you have dog experience and want an active dog that can keep up with a bigger playmate...may I suggest a Jack Russell? Big personality and energy in a little dog suit.

How about a retired Greyhound or a Lurcher, great temperements and the retired Greyhounds learn so much from having another dog around.
