Icon in system tray

A little while ago,i changed my broadband connection from USB to Ethernet which has worked perfectly fine after following ntl's instructions,but...

Now i have lost the connection indicator in the system tray (botton right). My sister got it to display on old laptop when i switched to broadband and i dont know where to look for it! I know you have to click on a box for Windoze to display it-where is the box cause i cant remember.
