Another Storm update/tumour growing

Its almost 2 months since I last posted about Storms ill health, his tumour is now the size of a football and we have had people say would it be best for us to have put to sleep, but that is something we can’t do while he is enjoying himself and the vet said he is coping really well with it considering it’s size.

He is having walks and runs (more of a wobble) in the woods and park and is also showing the other 2 that he is still the boss. We also introduced him to out next door neighbours new pup in which he showed his feelings for small dogs(he is brill with large dogs,) she got barked at by him and then he went out the gate back to his own garden.

He is also being spoilt by everyone and seems to have a never ending supply of his favourite pigs ears and goats milk, even my mum come in the other day with a new bed for him because “his is looking old and scruffy and he will need a comfy one for when he has bad days”, he loves it and wont let the other 2 in it.

I agree. If his quality of life is good and he's not in pain, there is no
reason why he should be PTS.

Is the tumor cancerous?

The tumour is cancerous but the vet said the type it is (he did give it a name but i cant remember it because it was all a blur) it tends not to spread.

I am so sorry to hear that. A beloved pet's illness is so hard to bear.

How old is he?

He is 7yrs 8mths, he is our first dog so we have found it hard, but he is not letting it get to him so we have to do the same.

That's the right attitude to have. If I was going through what you are,
I wouldn't have my dog PTS either.

Can't you have the tumor removed?
