Distract with toys , Labs need a lot of stimulation and scratching the walls could be because he is bored. I have 3 and we're over run with toys, bones and chews etc and still I get things chewed and ripped

thanks - I keep buying toys, I can't distract him when I'm not home. I guess he's going into the kennel during the day.

Sounds like he's bored. Lots of toys maybe a kong with treats and lots of long walks to tire him out. Labs also get very lonely as they are people dogs depending how long your out for it may be worth getting someone to visit and walk him.

Theo my lab [17weeks]

has about 15 toys but he only has five out at a time....

We change them over every day and sometimes during the day.

Keeps him amused.

He hasmany toys and things to keep occupied. We've had many dogs and no problems leaving them during normal work hours. This one is just particularly destructive! Lunchtime stops are not possible

you are supposed to do somnething with him and the toys really.

he is an adolescent labrador mix left alone too long getting bored, so doing what comes naturally.

its not really unusual. its certainly predictable under the circumstances.

can you hire a dog walker?

what exercise and training do you give him before and after work and at weekends?
