It's cause it smells really good to them so they roll in it so they can bring it back to you and share it with you when they next have a cuddle. LOL

pmsl - my dog does it also and he always manages to get in on his white bits so not only is he humming, he is manky too.

it doesnt matter that he ends up in a bath everytime which he isnt fond of - he still loves to roll..................

dogs who would have them huh ???

Mine aren't fussed with rolling in fox poo, Mya will eat it though along with horse, sheep and cow poo they both like to roll on dead animals in the field too

I also read somewhere that a dog is spreading its own scent on the article to 'take ownership' of the area.....both reasons are plausible i reckon but why do they only ever roll on one side (left in my girl's case)??
