welcome to the forum - Might be best that you post this in the training section, you will get a better response.
You need to establish why your dog is attacking others, before anyone can help though

Agree with the above.

Is he a rescue? If he is, can they tell you about his previous home? If not then what kind of socialisation did he receive as a puppy?

What do you mean by attack? Does he lunge on the lead? Does he bark and growl? Does he snap or full on go to grab another dog? Is there any trend in his behaviour or are all dogs his "targets"?

What kind of training has he received since you got him or since he was a puppy?

If you could answer the above - it could help people to help you

Have you had him from a pup?
Is he neutered?
Have you socialised him
Has anything happened that makes him nervous of other dogs?
Have you trained him etc etc.....

Please keep him on lead round other dogs. If he looks like he`s going to kick off, move to a safe distance from the other dog till he calms down then reward or praise.
It may be that you need help from a professional. If so, please go to some one from here http://www.apdt.co.uk/ and avoid advice from anyone who uses the methods of Cesar Milan or Jan Fennell.

am in a similar situation. Have borrowed books and watched tv programmes to get ideas on how best to tackle it. Barney my staffy is two years old and i took him on 3months ago as his owner was about to put him into a shelter. He was really bad at first,we could not go near any male dogs at all. What i have been doing is distracting his attention with his bag of treats and once the other dog has gone by he gets a reward. It is best if he is made to sit while doing this as he knows i am in control and all is ok. I have sussed out it is a fear reaction with barney rather than aggresion towards these other dogs. It is taking time and nowhere near being totally solved but it is working. Last week we met a guy with a male spaniel,we stopped to chat and barney gave one bark,i made him sit while i chatted then we let the dogs smell each other and then all was fine. It is not easy but if you can find someone with a passive male dog to help socialise your dog then this may help. good luck.
