Oh Helen, is it ever going to end
Poor old Zena, what ever is going on there. I'm really sorry to read all this and I hope you get to the bottom of it and that she feels better soon.

Thanks guys, I feel absolutely drained, feel sick meself now too

Just got back and she's gone to bed when I sit down here, so I might stay at my desk and get some paperwork done. I definitely won't be walking her, I want her nice and quiet for a couple of days. I noticed some more sick in the car from last night when we took her to the vet, and it was only half mucous with blood, the other half was plain mucous, so hopefully, that's a good thing, and if the vet is right and it's stomach lining, then that could mean it has stopped? No sickness though, since she had the jab, no licking of the lips, just very quiet in herself and sleeping, but then of course, she's tired too along with both of us having had no sleep overnight.

Do I have to mix the fish with rice of potato, or can I just feed her the plain fish for a couple of days please, anyone know?

The other bad news is, her last poo, had that same dollop of pink on the top, mucousy blood, not a lot, but I did see the colour of it on close examination.

I wish we could get to the bottom of this, the vet is quite baffled too, and the only way to do that is the endescope route, which the vet is reluctant to do for the moment, because of the stress entailed. She shook like a leaf when the vet examined her last night, so I know it's a big, fear thing with her and the vet now, or maybe it's when the muzzle goes on she knows what's coming, but I just can't risk it, as she let out a soft growl when she started feeling her stomach last night.

It's all so blooming strange isn't it

I think with all the problems she has I would now want to be referred to a specialist to do an endoscopy. A specialist will notice things a normal vet may miss.

I agree Bev, I really have to get to the bottom of all this now even if they are right with their IBS or sensitive tum. We have an excellent vet at this hospital, she is reknowned for doing the endescopes and spotting what others would miss, but unfortunately, she was pregant at the time, so I couldn't have it done the day I had Zena booked in, coz this vet was off with morning sickness! However, I did visit her afterwards with Zena and she said there is nothing wrong with her, she looks too healthy in herself for it to be anything serious and the sickness or diarrhea bouts weren't an issue as they were spread so far apart. She is now back on duty after having her baby, because the vet I saw in the middle of the night, mentioned about the endescope with her. I must get it down now, most definitely.

My vet thought Milo looked too healthy to have much wrong with him. But we know our dogs best and as the specialist found he had IBD and had been bleeding internally.
Keep a check on Zenas gums at various points during the day to see if they get very pale at any point. I noticed this on and off in Milo but of course they always looked normal at the vets . A blood test did show he was anemic though when finally blood was taken on a rare occasion he looked pale at the vets.
Good Luck H I know how worrying it is, especially when you don't know whats wrong. Sometimes a name for it, good or bad relieves you as at least you know what you are dealing with then.

I would be asking for the endoscopy.....

There's something very wrong here, and an endoscopy will hopefully show what it is

Hugs Aitch..... I'm so sorry you're having these problems on top of everything else....
