Poppy - Our Golden Oldie
RIP - 01/05/1991 - 10/07/2003
Poppy was our very first Golden Retriever, she was a naughty pup (aren't they all) but quick to learn.
She became a Mum for the first time in 1995 giving us our first Litter, which was an eye-opener; she had 8 lovely pups, 4 boys & 4 girls. Poppy's 2nd Litter was in 1997 a Litter of 5, not a good time for her as she developed Pyometra and was spayed.
Poppy became a Great Grand Mother in 2002.
Though in mid 2002 Poppy developed Bladder stones, then in May /June 2003 Poppy was diagnosed with Lymphoma, after much soul searching we decided to have Poppy 'put to sleep' on 10th July 2003.
We are proud to have been Poppy's owners, to have loved and been loved in return is something beyond all comprehension.
Another shining light has gone from our lives but Poppy will forever walk by our side.

Such a Lady!!
What would you call her, would it be a Snob!
A cute puppy was what we wanted and she did the job.
Daddy’s girl she was to be,
He gave loads of love, she returned it free.
We could call her bad, we could call her good,
She tried our patience, and we knew she would.
She had puppies, which seemed a surprise,
Time passed, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grand Mother, a Veteran Prize.
Now this Matriarch in this 'doggy world',
Her lifetime behind her, no more to be unfurled.
Out she goes again, into the garden where it's shady,
What would you call her?
She was a Lady!
