cat poop and seizures

Hi everybody My GSD Shamus is epileptic or so they say he had a grand mal yesterday I gave him 5ml valium IM and a extra 60mg of pheno and he went right to sleep not 2 hrs later he (while I was in the shower thinking he was snoozing soundly) raided the cat litter box I came out of the shower to find the one poop that was in the box (I was going to clean it later) gone and Shamus seizing next to the box with a nose full of litter. does anyone know if there is a connection between cat poo and seizures or any other kind of poo for that matter we also have a pig and a couple of horses
thanks Jayne

I know nothing of seizures, i'm sure someone with experiance will be along soon.
Has your cat been on any medication lately that might have passed with it's stools? Or perhaps an ingrediant in the cat litter itself? Just some thoughts.
Hope he's feeling ok after his fits.

Toxoplasmosis
is known to cause seizures in children, and this is carried in cat poop.if that any help,i know that bajalunas cats have been wormed because i wormed them,is the chemicals in the wormer passed into the litter tray, that shamus ate, causing the siezures.not the poop itself.i wonder?

Yes toni, we used to have aproblem up at the stables when we wormed our horses, as one of the dogs got very sick eating horse poo out of a horse that had been wormed the night before???!!!! I reckon that's a distinct possibility there! Might be worth mentioning it to the vet I think? All the best, poor dog.
