I never get in a lift unless i have no other choice. You need to find out who is in charge of H&S & bring it to their attention asap.

I totally understand. I once got in a lift with 5 big engineering students who decided it would be funny to test the failsafe and they all jumped up and down in unison. I was absolutely terrified. You coan`t escape, you can`t do anything.
I still don`t like lifts.

Due to a couple of nightmare experiences I will never go in a lift again unless it is a matter of life or death. And even then I would have to be unconscious in order for someone to get me in one. As I cannot use stairs it does make life a bit tricky though...

I can relate to this-i suffer with claustophobia too.Oddly,lifts dont trigger it because they're always illuminated,but if i have to get something from the (unlit) container at our shooting range and the wind blows the door shut it really freaks me out.I havent many fears,but this and water tops them all.
