Paddys progress... (Warning! Amputation wound pics included)

Hi all,

Just thought this may help anyone going through this or preparing for it with their dog. I found it really helped for me to look at other healing doggy amputation pics to prepare myself so it wasnt such a shock when she came home.

This is the first pic we took when she came home, 7 days after op, you can see the redness of her tummy

And a closer one....

She came home thursday and its saturday now and i can already see a difference, the redness and bruising on her belly has almost gone now.

It really makes you realise what a major op it is doesn't it.

But she seems to be doing well and I'll looking forward to seeing more photos of her progress.

It does, it was quite a shock when she came home but luckily i had done plenty of research and knew what it was going to look like. I will take some more pics tomorrow.

I was on my way to work today and passed a little corgi with just 3 legs; the same one missing as Paddy. It was walking along looking really happy with itself.
It immediately made me think of your Paddy, and how happy she can be with just three good legs.
Amazing how dogs just get on with things and cope.... They are so resilient. It would be such a huge deal to us if we were to lose a limb...

Keep heeling well Paddy, you can do it

Poor Paddy, it must have been quite an ordeal for her (and you) lets hope that she can put this all behind her now.
