In my experience with chows they gnaw their legs/paws when they have too much salt in their diet. Every chow I've had has done this at some point in their life but by bathing in antiseptic i.e Dettol & applying antiseptic cream then bandaging them they soon heal & the fur quickly grows back.

Have you found a home for him yet?

I am looking for a Chow, my last Chow passed away a few years ago & I now know what's missing in my life.........I would gladly give a new home. Feel free to contact me if you still need to find him a home.
