How white should a westie be?!

I ask because when my boys saw the westie on the tv ad for Caeser dog food they noticed how white he was! Jessie's more a 'magnolia' colour at the moment so the difference is quite noticable! Do they colour the dogs for the ads?

Thank you - she is!! I don't mind 'cos she's a pet, not for showing but it's curious!

Yes, I've got that for Jessie. As she's a rescue her coat's not good anyway and she has a red tinge to her beard and feet. I'm hoping with diet etc it will improve and after her next moult.

My Westie used to be pretty white (other than his chops which constantly looked like he had just had spag bol lol).

You see so much variation in the whiteness of them though.

There's special shampoo for the white's on dog's, no idea what it's called though. My boss uses it when showing her BC's and it's amazing!!!

Hi all

Yes the colour of a Westies coat can vary from a grey to brilliant white.

I am a groomer and use a special shampoo for dogs with white coats which has optical brightners. You can buy these from large pet stores Johnnsons and Wahl both have a version.
