help keyboard not working

just got in to find keyboard not working, i am at the moment using the on-screen keyboard and its doing my head in, please can anyone help.

Is it plugged in? I mean the cable havent gotten loose?

U might have to restart if its gotten loose, before it works again I mean

i had a mini breakdown once when my keyboard didnt work and max had pulled it out rummaging behind computer table for something!! hubby and i wondered for ages before 8yr old suggested it may be unplugged!!
