Tiny baby bird - what to do??

One of the cats just came home with a tiny baby bird

It is just starting to get proper feathers. Looks like a sparrow or something.

No idea what to do, it is currently sitting on our hanging bird table.........

Poor thing

Any advice??????

I would leave it as long as it is safe - Mum will find it.

I hope so.. Can't bear to leave it to get killed/die a horrid death, but not capable of DOING anything for it - a rock and a hard place!!

Poor little thing, this is one of the reasons I made my garden secure so that my Cats could not get out. If you dont know where it came from, mom probably wont be able to find it, but if luck is on his side, then she will, if it can fly then just keep the Cat away and give him a bit of time.

Thanks for that

The cats are inside at the moment..

It is the bengal being a terror. Had about 4 birds this week so far. He is not usually allowed out, but we are having to let all the cats out to alleviate the stress amongst them here at the moment..

There are feathers and bits of birds strewn all over the place at the mo

Our house is impossible to secure, just the way it is built and the way it sits on it's plot, would be a mammoth task, as the area is quite big and higgledy piggeldy!

you can get a collar for them and it beeps and flashes to scare the bird away, they really work too,i got mine from p@h for £10 and if it is the bengal who is the culprit i would just get him one i got fed up of getting injured birds brought back to me and having to rush to the vets with them or wait for the rspca to turn up my cat dexter doesn't even realise he is wearing it now

If it is still there and alive then give it egg can't think if its ment to be hard boiled scambled or whatever but it is the best thing to give ANY young bird therefore not feeding it the wrong diet.
