How many dogs would you own at any one time

Are you a one dog person? if not what is your 'upper limit' as it were?

Mine is probably 4.

I can't see myself ever wanting more than two or three at a time.

I've always thought there should be one hand per dog in a house so that all dogs can be fussed at the same time. So a 1 person house would be 2 dogs, a 2 person house would be 4 dogs. Obviously it's different for amputees...

Having said that I'll be breaking that idea soon as when I move out I'll have 4 dogs to 2 hands ho hum I'm sure I can learn to rub them with my elbowS
I also always said I'd never have more than two but once you get to three, four is too easy to step up to. After all what's one more?

I've 2 dogs which suits us currently, any more and we'd need bigger car and would make visiting people more difficult. I think we could manage about 4 lazy greyhounds and wouldn't mind that many in future.

I have my own GSD, but I do a lot of work, training, walks and they stay over at mine a lot too with my mums westies....

So I can walk three at a time and I sometimes take my brothers yorky pup with with me too.... So I would say no more than 4.

I think two is a good number. Company for each other, one per hand, many holiday places allow 2 dogs, etc.
Doesn't stop me being tempted by others though! I really would like to foster again eventually but a bad experience really put OH off and I just can't convince him yet, I saw a Rottie is desperate need and did some subtle hinting and got an outright no
I think I would like to iron out the little niggles in my own first anyway, that's my sensible head. Get to the stage where Casper doesn't react on walks, Kiki's separation anxiety is sorted (and stable for a while so I don't trigger it off again by making changes) and so on. Then I may plead with OH to let me sneak in an ickle foster dog - an EBT will do if a large breed is going to be too much for our not-mahoosive house!
