Times they are a changing.

Where has the time gone? Out in the park today I stopped and stroked a GSD pup about 5/6 months old (a couple of months younger than Tess) and his owner said "You are lucky your two are well behaved."
I almost laughed then I looked down at my two who were both off lead waiting for me. Sal was laying down head on paws eyes on me. Tess was sitting at attention waiting for "life” as she knows it to continue. But at least she had all four feet on the floor - not trying to kiss everyone. Both of them were just waiting for me, to let them 'Go on'
When I looked at them I just replied "Yes I am lucky" And all the hours of hard work/training paid off, there and then because of one compliment.
As I walked away I realized up until recently my two must have thought the world consisted of two sentences;
"No. Leave it" and "Oi. Get down."
Times they are a changing because now they are Good girls - mostly.

It is a great feeling when someone praises your dogs, you must have worked hard with them.

I know that I often get comments about how good our dogs were/is, however they weren't perfect by any means, it was just they had been trained to comply with most of the commands we gave them.

(Well if they wanted to )

Ian

all of my three are going through the teenage stage (jaz is 2, prinz is 1 1/2 and Honey is just passed a year) its funny, i started obeidience with them at a young age, and then they start to rebel like proper kids. If i didnt know any better, i would have thought they had gone nuts, and had them all commited. However i am gritting my teeth and waiting for next year to come quick!

(when do people think the adolescent stage is over????)
