Spots of blood!!

Hi guys

Was doing some cleaning today, which included mopping the kitchen floor, i waited for it to dry, went to the kitchen to make a cuppa and found 3 spots of blood on the floor

Cant find anyone injured, so thought Ruby in season??? but surely its way too soon after her first one which was only at the end of Sept.

This is my first ever female dog so dont really know what to look for and as soon as chrimbo is over she was going to the vet.

Anyone have any ideas???

It could be anything, small cut to mouth or foot. If that is all you have found I wouldn't worry!

Hi VV is Ruby ok otherwise, not drinking and peeing more? eating ok? Not licking herself a lot more?

I would't want to miss a urinary tract infection or pyometra so I will just mention them to you and would advise you to take a clean white tissue and wipe her vulva, is the tissue clean ?

She is fine in herself, it was only a small bit of blood on tissue, doesnt really smell of anything, looks like normal blood, very red, just like if you cut yourself

..sounds like a Urinary TI then, I am still slightly concerned because Ruby was recently in season ( very young bitches don't usually get pyo though but it isn't unheard of) ...do you have an out of hour vet you can ring? It is probably nothing and it is of course up to you but I like to be on the safe side and would ring the vet. If it is either of these conditions they both need antibiotics ...

As her last season was her first one TBH I would be more inclined to think she may have come in again, some bitches do come in every 4 months or so and I believe its advised if a bitch does come in so often to get them spayed as it could be a sign of infertility anyway, one of my friends bitches came in very often (4 1/2 months) she eventually got her spayed, it may all just settle down after a few seasons though and regulate itself better?
