SCS again!!!!!

Ok, 2 years ago we purchased two 3 seater leather settees from SCS, within 2 months the seats were collapsing so we had to call them back to look at them. They agreed something wasn't right, stuffed under the seats with foam and said if it got worse to call them back. We have since been in touch with them 6 times as the two outside seats are leaning inwards, so basically 4 of the seats can't be sat on. After a few 'words' with them, they sent out Homecare, who made a full report and the chap said he would be back within the week to repair them. 4 weeks later no contact, so we rang them and they said a letter was in the post. It arrived basically saying it was natural wear and tear and there was nothing they could do for us. Each sofa weighs in excess of 25 stone and there is one small bun foot in the centre screwed into a 1" x 2" piece of wood which is now snapped, the back rests are also snapped, we don't have young children in the house so the furniture isn't abused at all and the dogs aren't allowed on the furniture either, it's just falling to pieces around us.

We've now got a case running with Trading Standards, they say we have a good case against them, the settees were £2700 each, a lot more than we wanted to spend, the salesman at the time assured us they would last a lifetime....NOT just 2 years.

We paid the extra £300 for the insurance, again which is useless as it only covers the leather, not the frame or cushions, they are not members of the furniture omnisbusmen...probably knew there would be too many complaints about them.

But I am not giving in, Number 4 letter is going off tonight registered post, headed sales of goods act 1979 as we feel the furniture was not of perfect quality/condition when it arrived.

So just a warning............BEWARE SCS.........ONCE THEY HAVE TAKEN YOUR MONEY THEY WANT NOTHING MORE TO DO WITH YOU!!

I am going to write to the Bristol Evening Post and give them some bad publicity, which I'm sure they could do with espeically as sales are slow at the moment!!!
