We just got a zanussi washing machine and it is cold fill and takes all the powder away from the drawer...

I did a bit of looking around online for recommended brands of machines and came up with this link
http://www.washerhelp.co.uk/buying-w...-machines.html

I was going to get Hotpoint but apparently they arn't very widely recommended anymore so that's why I got Zanussi...

If you click on the links at the start of the page it tells you all kinds of stuff about washing machines, if you fancy a bit of a snore fest...LOL...No seriously! I found it quite a good guide when I needed help choosing one.

Maybe it is a Hotpoint thing?...Maybe you could complain to them?? at least bring it to their attention.

Mine's a Hotpoint WT965 Ultima Super Silent Wash 7kg load, 1600 spin, triple A rated. Can't fault it in anyway to be honest, my last two have been Hotpoint never had any problems with them, this 'problem' has only been since I've had a cold fill machine.

It's fine with powder, just the tablets don't seem to dissolve.

Ok, this is the reply I just got from P&G regarding their non-dissolving washing tablets, completely useless reply really:

am sorry to learn that you have had trouble with our product recently and
appreciate you taking the time to let us know. I hope the following advice will
help you avoid the problem in the future.

Residue in Your Washing Machine's Dispensing Drawer

LOW WATER PRESSURE

If washing powder remains in the machine dispenser compartment, this may be due
to inadequate water pressure. Low water pressure may stem from factors outside
a householder's control, particularly in the case of flat-dwellers.

Check the following points :·

-make sure the water-main tap is turned on fully.·

-check that the water jets above the dispenser drawer have not become blocked.
This can happen if the drawer has been overfilled previously with powder.

-check that the drawer is clean and dry when the powder or tablets are put in.

-make sure the powder is placed at the back of the dispensing drawer while
tablets are placed flat at the front of the drawer.

-make sure that while the machine is filling, the flow of water is not reduced
by turning on hot or cold water taps in the kitchen or bathroom.

If you continue to have this problem due to conditions outside of your control,
we would suggest the following:

Flush warm water into the dispensing draw while the machine is filling. This
will help dissolve the powder.

Try using a liquid detergent like Ariel, Bold or Fairy.

Try placing the tablets at the back of the empty drum without a net or bag and
putting the clothes on top of them.

we used to use the powder tablets,, until it completely blocked up the pipe at the back of the machine and flooded my kitchen

ever since then ive used ariel colour liquid and had no problems, i use daz liquid for my whites

hope you find an economical solution CC, i must admit using the liquid works out a little more expensive
