Typical

Last night, before I went to work a night shift, my boiler started shouting at me. No hot water or central heating.

I phoned the plumber and he said that he would be here by 8.30 am. I finished work early this morning so that I would be home just in time, and he turned up at 9.30!!

It was freezing in my flat this morning (built in 1800). Massive victorian house made into 4 apartments. When I left work, I thought, great, let Lee in to fix the boiler, and I just fancied curry and chips for my dinner, glass of wine and straight to bed to a much needed sleep.

I am off work now until a week on Monday, so I thought that I could have today as a sleep day, and as my OH is off tomorrow, we could go into Manchester for a bit of lunch and shopping - NO.

Lee and his mate are here. Has pulled a cupboard off the wall to get to the boiler, pulled all the hall carpet up and has cut a hole in the floorboards to get to the piping. He is now draining all the central heating system, and it looks like it is going to take all day

Here I am, absolutely knackered, starving hungry and freezing cold.

Does anyone want a sleeping lodger for a couple of days?

Sorry Lynn,

Lee Gone. Phew!!!................. but

The hallway has a gangplank all the way up. with earth pipes, and running water under the floorboards Ooohh Errr . I have an internal water feature! One of them have gone for a part whilst the other is watching the water flow. Hopefully, if they can get the part, it'll be sorted this afternoon.

Molly and Mindy both fast asleep on ma knee with the laptop perched in between.

If they can't fix it this afternoon you can always make them walk the plank.

Seriously I hope it is sorted this afternoon for you. The dogs have the right idea then.
