dogs make you rich!!

On my walk this evening, we passed a man who noticed the dogs and commented on how I had my hands full ( they were walking perfectly calmly alongside me but there you go).
Then he said
" you must be well off to have 3 dogs "
Cheeky beggar thinks I.
So then I said
" Yep, they make my life very rich indeed!":smt002
He didn't look one jot impressed, but he didn't have an answer!

there are some very strange people about - what a nosey git! good comeback though.. kudos!

I'm not usually that quick- I must admit I was quite chuffed with my speedy comeback!
And Becky I dread to think how cheeky he'd have been if I'd had six doglets with me - I didn't dare tell him I am on a waiting list for another Vallhund! Maybe I should have, I'm sure his jaw hitting the floor would have been audible.
I bet he goes through life like that, saying whatever he thinks, unaware of putting his big foot in it, a real life Larry David in "Curb Your Enthusiasm." Aren't people funny though,
I honestly don't think he felt he was remotely out of line!

I've had that said to me!

People have said that to me in the past to which I reply ...

"Oh, Why ??" The only answer I get is that they are big dogs, therefore they must eat like a horse !! Quite shocking when you realise they probably eat less than most Labs !

The daftest comment I ever got was from a commuter looking at my three sprawled together in a train carriage - he watched them for a while looking puzzled, then asked "Do they get on?"
I`m afraid I couldn`t think of a reply.
