Anal glands - any foodstuffs to help empty the anal glands naturally?

Pippa is heavy in pup and had her anal glands emptied a few weeks ago .now not sure if all was removed as she is skating for England ....apart from bran anything else good for anal gland clearance.......don't really wanna run to the vets she is a roly poly and hates travelling in the car so don't really want to stress her out

No idea Inca but I hope you manage to sort it

Incidentally is this a problem Cavaliers are prone to cos Ben used to 'skate' all the time LOL and the terriers never do it?

Do you give your girls raw bones? My Daisy used to suffer with her anal glands, but a nice raw bone once a week has cured it. Once it passes through they empty no problems

Hi Inca you can gently empty them yourself ..it may not be the anal gland, has she got a mucus discharge, this sometimes 'sticks the bits together' (sorry folks ) pulling on the hairs of the vulva and they 'skate' to free them

Hey Inca I heard if you're going to give raw meat it's best to freeze it for 24 hours and then defrost before giving it as that's supposed to kill any nasties?

I think HEAVY in pup is an understatement.......and there was you only yesterday wondering if you should get her scanned.....lol.
