Pets As Therapy

Katy here is the link for Pets As Therapy.

www.petsastherapy.org

Pets As Therapy dogs (and cats) are pets which visit Residential Homes, Hospitals, Special Needs Schools/units to encourage communication or just for people to pet if they have had to leave a pet behind when going into care homes.

That's okay guys no probs.

It is great fun and sooooo rewarding. I only go to my local school because of my kiddies but now that Thomas is in school fulltime I'm hoping I can go to different places now.

Jas find's it very tiring. Our first visit was to the special needs unit and there was one boy who never smiled. He only ever frowned. We were there for 45 minutes and I was watching this little boy. After about 10 minutes u could just make out a smile appearing on his face.

When we were leaving, the head of the Special Needs Unit was saying that he's never done that before and can't wait for us to go again.

I've always thought about applying. Shaan is bomb proof around people

..as for my other two dogs, the residents would need valium afterwards

I thouhgt Jas would be too boistrous but as soon as he see's his coat he's completely different. He runs round like a mad thing but I get his coat out and he's as quiet as a mouse.

U'd swear he'd been abducted by aliens
