Madge my SBT has come up in all these lumps and bumps. As some of you no she has demodex and with a weekly bath of aludex is looking much better, but last night i noticed that around her neck area her fur is sticking up in places and when i felt her she had pea size hard lumps .
Has anyone had this prob with their dog.

Is Madge scratching at that area at all? Perhaps she has just inflamed the skin.

I know when Ozzy had it he was scratting at himself like no tomorrow!

It is worth ringing the vet to enquire if this may be a side effect of the baths, perhaps she has sensitive skin? Aludex is very strong stuff.

Could it be fleas? My CKCS has picked up fleas before and has come up in pea size hard lumps where the fleas have bitten her. She suffers with flea allergy dermatitis, and this is why she comes up in the lumps.

If not, like someone else said, it could be a nettle rash or something similar.

Hi Patterlad it is difficult to say without seeing the lumps but it does sound rather like an allergic reaction possibly to the medication .

If it is the lumps tend to be under the skin (as apposed to spots on the skin). It really needs to be checked out by the vet .

Teagan was allergic to the Aludex wash!
It made her sore and itchy!
So the vet stopped them straight away.

bruno gets this alot - and on previous trips to vets has turned out to be berry bug bites from the fields - but to be sure I would be inclined to take her to the vet.

Thank you everyone for your great advice.I took her to the vets and he says they are flea bites and she has had a allergic reaction to them.
Cant treat her really until the aludex washes have ceased. He went on to say if he gave her anything else at the mo it could knock her immune system again and h dont want to do that as her demodex is looking real good.
She looks a right old sight.Looks like lumpy ,bald reject.
