Ours cost a fortune, even more so when we have puppies! How we still afford to show and the like i will never know! But im the sort of person that likes spending money on them, I would spend my last £1 on a toy or treat if i saw one .. and at shows, we have to pick treats up to bring home to all the dogs!
Their so worth it, their not here forever so i want to make the most of the years they are! Think we would all agree we wouldnt have anything different..

Its only money. We would spend it on something else if we did not have dogs.

I wouldn't care to add it up really, and it doesn't matter however much it is.

However, our latest dog Jimmi has so far cost nearly two thousand pounds..............in the first four months that we have had him ! That does include the bill for building up a section of wall mind you.

I wouldnt like to sit and work it all out but here are a few I can calculate easily:

Insurance = £645
Training classes = £1339
Worming = £60
Vaccinations = around £100
Food = perhaps £200

Total = £2344

That doesnt include the cost of such things like toys, bedding and other essentials. It also doesnt include flea/tick treatment as I only tend to do this when I remember (which isnt often as it's been over a year since they were done!)

I'm totally gobsmacked by the amount I spend on training. Flynn's gundog training is the most expensive and takes up half the amount then the collies do agility and obedience. Also, I havent included the amount of fuel I use taking them to their classes and taking them here, there and everywhere for walks!

I'd be a damn sight richer if I had no dogs, thats for sure!

Blimey, how am I spending so much on food compared to others? and I don't feed one of the super expensive kibbles, either. Must be that darn Naturediet they also get.

Well I have 5 dogs......2 lurchers, a greyhound, a welsh collie and a collie cross. Each month I pay roughly:-
Food - £90
Insurance - £80
As well as vaccinations £300 per year
Worming - £280 per year
Flea treatments approx £20 per month

That's without the other unforseen vets bills and consultation fees!!
They'r all worth it tho!!

I was wondering the same as Labradork my food bill for the dogs is around £200 a month so there's no way I'm even thinking about the rest of it.

My food bill is cheap because I get the majority of mine free, I just buy tripe and organ meat and the odd bit of meat if it's on offer or reduced. If I fed kibble, my food bill would be pretty high (as it used to be when they were on premium kibble like AG and Nutro).

hay
per year they cost me:
Food- £95
Treats-230
Flea prevention £15
wormers £40
Vaccinations £70
Toys/Training Classes/bowls £100

Total 550 a year. My biggest saving was changing food, with no ill effect on my dogs
