We had a mouse in the house!

oooo im shaking like a leaf!

my dad had put down a mouse trap as they have a mouse in the house.
i dont like this method.

so i came into the house 10mins ago and went upstairs to see if it was caught.

no trap to be seen??

phoned dad said to look around the bedroom as it might be running with the trap caught onto itself.

so i did and i found the poor wee thing and it squeeked at me

phoned dad again and he said to take it outside and kill it

so couldnt do that obviously, so got the tongs from the fire place lifted it with the trap attached and put it into a plastic bag and took it outside.

looked in and just its right front wee toe/foot was caught, so i lift the trap and it got its foot out and then i let it out under the shed at the end of the garden.

poor wee thing

phoned dad again, he said what did you do that for? and i said well it was just its front foot and it looked okay.

so it may live or die but i couldnt kill it myself.

drama drama!!

why not buy some humane traps then take it to some woodland and release it?

we did the books up to a bucket with treats inside - they could get in but not out - could fit more than one in at a time (ours were in the rabbit shed not the house) and were easy to release again.

yeah I think he is a bit paranoid about them being in the house as when I was a baby in our old house he heard one running through the walls at night when he was in bed.

then it stopped and every time he opened the hotpress door a very bad smell engulfed him!

it had died in the walls and took ages to get it out and then remake the wall again!!

Aww I think it's nice that you set it free! I couldn't have killed it either. There is a mouse that lives under our shed, he's very happy there and never comes in the house
He's quite brave though, comes out to say hello!
