Tesco Delivery Item Substitutions

I received an email to say that substitutions will be at the cheaper price (if the item you ordered is cheaper), that sounds good.

Hmmm that doesnt sound good. Places usually subsitute an item of the same price or if they cant do that they go for the more expensive item , not the cheapest

I read it as, if it is an item of a higher price (the substitution) you get it for the cheaper price.

Sainsburys substitute different priced items and charge you the difference.

I think Tesco are telling you they will give you a cheaper item and charge you for what you have paid, I think they are implying they are helping save you money.

ASDA give you a more expensive substitute and you don't have to pay the difference - best value is there.

I think Tescos are saying that if they have to substitute for a more expensive item they will only charge you for the cheaper one you had originally ordered.....

That's exactly what they do, I've had it a few times. If you order something for say £3 and they substitute it with something at £5 you still only pay £3.
