What's the best way to look after my dogs 'blister like' lump?

Hi all,

We got our dog Rosa from a dog centre about 2 weeks back.

When we got her the centre's vet had removed a lump from her neck (thought to be caused from a cat bite, although we're not sure because she was a stray)

Since then it filled up with fluid and was drained by the vet twice (before we got her)

By the time she was with us we thought she was over the worst of it, but sure enough, last week, it swelled up to a tennis ball sized lump and before we left for the vets, burst.

We still took her and he thinks it's filling up as part of the healing process, like a blister. And gave her some antibiotics.

He's now sent her lump off to be analysed (WHY he didn't do this before we have no idea.) and we're waiting for the results. But very doubtful in cancerous.

As regards to the swelling, we're doing our best to let the fluid out, sometimes a few times a day, and cleaning it with saltwater, and giving her her antibiotics. But it doesn't seem to be going.

I know it's a bit odd, but if anyone has anymore ideas on how we can speed the process along we'd be really grateful. We just want Rosa to be comfortable again and she's been so good with us prodding and poking her
