Glad the aspiration came back with good news. Can they not just pop an abcess without anaesthatising a dog? I don't have any experience of abcesses in dogs but I've had numerous rats with abcesses and hot compresses usually bring the abcesses to a head, or soften the entry wound, to allow the gunk to be flushed out. I've only had one rat that needed to go under a GA, and that was because she ahd about 20 of the things (cagemate had attacked her) and a few had joined together to form deep channels under the skin that needed to be opened up deeper.

hi

hopefully her lymph nodes are because of infection and the ab's deal with it

did your vet mention 'lick granulomas'? at all as by your description it sounds like they could be.

Nope, no one has mentioned a lick granuloma!
Wouldn't she have to lick and lick to do that?

She was only sitting on the sofa licking it cos it was sore! Am with her pretty much 24/7 at the moment - she sleeps on my bed half on top of me lol

Thought I would have noticed that?!

She's def not been licking since we've been to vets anyway, and it's only got worse, and another sore has developed about an inch above it

Just to let you know, we were back at the vets yesterday as the sore on her leg hadn't got any better.

The vets think it could possibly be a Mast cell Tumour.
They have taken 4 biopsies, and I will know by Friday.
Either way they will probably operate, but they want to know what they are operating on before they do it.

Please send good vibes for my baby.........not sure I can take the news if it is this.......got enough going on already

Just to update you all on Teagans wounds........

She had them operated on about 2 1/2 weeks ago. (Thursday 7th)
At the same time, the vet operated on the swollen lymph node and removed it.

All lumps were sent off for testing, and luckily they were nothing sinister

We've had lots of fun and games though..........the night she came home, her front leg bandage fell off whole!
I had to do an emergency trip to tesco and re-bandage it. The next day I went to the vets for it re-bandaged.

I then went into hospital on Monday 11th for 6 days, so Isochick and her hubby did the vets runs every few days taking her for bandage changes.
After a few days the back right bandage was taken off and, but unfortunately her front right (lump on pad) had broken down, so we're still on bandages changes every few days......it's SLOWLY healing.
All sticthes of the 3 wounds have been taken out, and the back 2 are looking quite nice.
Poor baby, she's pretty depressed, as she can't be walked, as we don't want the pad to break down anymore
The wound is nearly the whole of the large pad now.

I'm back in hospital on 1st November for another 5-6 days, so fingers crossed it heals really well this week, and she'll no longer need a bandage on (but I doubt it!)
