Conjunctivitis (any experience of it spreading between dogs?)

went to vet WHILST ON HOLIDAY IN BRIDLINGTON with mishka as had green gunk from her eye ,it was red too!!.she had conjunctivitis apparently in both eyes. Last night ice shows a red right eye, gunk from that too ,so off to vets today,as shes prone to ulcers in her eye.this eye problem can apparently spread ,have any of you had a few dogs get this eye problem ,as it looks awful & yucky!!

Our dogs have had conjunctivitis before and it can spread quite easily, but thankfully is also easily treatable with the drops.
Took the Biff to the vet once when he had it...lots of green gunk, the vet put dye in his eye to check for ulcers etc...so then | give him a big Bonio as a reward for being good (which he decides not to eat,he wants to carry it home...and set off walking home. People were crossing the road to get away from us , when they saw the Biff...I couldn't work out why...'til I looked down and he's got gunk coming out of his eyes that's the same colour as the dye the vet used...which is also still in his eyes...he's also salivating and it's dripping off the end of the bonio...he looked like devil dog!!! Eughhhh.
Hope your eye problems clear up quickly with the drops..

One of Suki's sisters came to visit a few weeks back and had what we thought was conjunctivitis - a couple of days later Suki's eyes were a bit gunky too. We used a saline solution (same as you would do for a baby) and gently cleaned her eyes (start from the inside and sweep in a gentle direction and make sure you use a clean piece of cotton for each eye to minimise cross infection).
