Taking Treats

How gentle are your dogs when taking a treat from you ?

All of mine are very gentle , its sweet to see just how gentle they are , as if taking a treat from my hand or from my mouth (I hold one end between my lips) could hurt me if they did it any other way

Teddy used to be rough about taking treats when I first adopted him , id risk losing a finger if I wasnt quick , but now he is as gentle as a lamb

All mine are good now. Guinness was the worst..he'd really hurt you, but now we've taught him to be gentle, he really is!
Coco was pretty bad too but even she is really sweet now. But Jenny has always been so gentle. She bearly touches you bless her. She's gorgeous

4/5 are really gentle. Lulu is like a crocodile and if I am not quick she could pierce my fingers LOL. She is getting better (ish). She just gets over excited and I think she imagines the treat is the very last thing she will get to eat..

Mine aren't that good, Boyo's eyesight isn't perfect & he occasionally catches you & Hannah if you are not really firm & remind her every time to be gentle is bad. Its not for nothing that her nickname is piranha.

Sadie - very gentle.
Benjie - can be gentle.
Louie - you're better off feeding him like a horse with your hand flat, especially small treats.
Pennie - she's learning.

Sweep is ok, but since going mostly blind he can miss and catch your hand as well

I normally drop them on the floor anyway, especially if trick training so they move out of position and you can repeat. But I have one who is gentle on the command "eat it nicely" and one who loves food so much she'll take your hand off if you're not careful!

I usually give the dogs treats inbetween my fingers. Jessie is very gentle and will just use her tongue to pluck it from you, Jed is very gentle but tends to open his mouth wide and gets most of my hand in his mouth. I have to feed Flynn like a horse because he tends to behave like a snapping turtle and fingers could potentially be lost!

Bella my Goldie is very gentle although needs reminding when kids give her a treat.

If it's a treat that's hard I can even take it back out of her mouth but that's Goldies for you x
