My dog won't poop/pee on a leash! HELP!

Our new dog (golden retvr. rescue) is 2 1/2 yrs. old and we just adopted her 3 weeks ago. She will not go to the bathroom when taking walks. We've tried 1 hour walks several times a day with no success. As soon as we let her in our yard she will go! We live in Illinois and all of our snow is melting and it is now our rainy season. Our yard is now a MUD PIT and taking her in the yard now is not an option! Any suggestions/help would be appreciated.

sounds like she is nervous out and about?

im assuming you dont mean you walk her 7 X 1 hour each day?

i would be happy and relaxed if she at least goes to the toilet in your garden, because if the issue on the walks is anxiety based, you dont want the one successful area to also become anxious, just in case she goes indoors.

that is until we can work out what the issue on the walks is.

btw, you americans and your 'bathroom' adjectives

just noticed that your dog has or had an issue around just yourself in your family?

is it you that is walking her when she wont pee?
