Is Bentley too thin? :(

I've just had Bentley clipped yesterday and he looks much smaller than he did when he had all his fluff!!

This evening we were out walking when we met a lady with two jack russells, she stroked Bentley and said ''owwww isn't he thin, poor boy, whats wrong with him'' I said nothing is wrong with him he is fine but i cant stop wondering since

I like to keep Bentley lean as I think its better and healthier than being fat but I am worried he is too skinny now He gets groomed at the vets surely they would have said yesterday if he was underweight???

he is a 7 yr old westie and weighs 7kg he is quite small for his breed because he was the runt of the litter.

here are some pictures what do you think?????

For breakfast he eats 40g dry food with a spoonful of fish oil and a teaspoon of probiotic powder and for tea he has another 40g dry food with 1/2 pouch wet food and a jointcare tablet. Daily treats are a couple of tiny biscuits on walks, a fish skin treat at coffee break and another one at lunch time (he comes to work with me), and a dental chew or rawhide in the evenings.

he is quite active i think?? We walk for 1 hr a day off lead (30 mins morn and eve) and a quick 10 min walk at lunchtime on lead. He comes to work with me and spends the day alseep either ON my desk or under it!! lol

so is he too slim?? what should he weigh??

I think you just get a bit of a surprise when all that fluff comes off! And his hairy head probably makes his body look out of proportion. I can't see his ribs or anything (which would indicate underweight). I don't think he should be any thinner, but he's certainly not starved Stop stressing.

Im no expert either but he looks fine to me. I'd always rather have a dog slightly underweight rather than overweight.

Not a bit! He looks just lovely!

The fluff does hide a multitude of sins...

I can't see ribs, so I shouldn't worry. Everyone I meet says my dog "needs to put a bit of weight on" And all I see are fat dogs....

Looks great to me!

Providing he's fit and active, then keep him as he is. He's lovely.

ETA: Were her dogs a bit on the chubby side, by any chance?
