Another poem
Just thought I'd share this with you.
My sister had lots of problems over the years trying to have a baby, eventually she had a healthy baby girl, who she called Georgia May.
When Georgia was 3 yrs old my sister wrote this poem.
It always brings tears to my eyes.
Hope you like it.
An Ode to Georgia May.
One wonderful magical morning,
High up in the Heavens above,
Six baby angels frolicked,
Their hearts full of joy and love.
And as they played their angel games,
A voice that they all knew,
Spoke to them with tenderness.
I've a job for you to do.
A soft and golden silence fell,
As they listened with intent,
To what their father told them,
Of an oh so special event.
To each of you I grant one wish,
To bestow upon a child,
A baby girl due today,
He said and gently smiled.
A rosy cheeked cherub,
The first to be so bold,
Asked of his heavenly father,
May her hair be purest gold.
My gift unto this newborn,
Began another angel's speech,
Is skin as soft as the skin you made,
When you made the softest peach.
Another spoke in choral tones,
To give my gift I'm glad,
For her eyes will be the biggest and bluest,
A baby ever had.
One tiny tot wished for her,
The cutest button nose,
And her sweet rosebud lips,
The smallest gave her those.
The biggest of them all spoke last,
If you would be so kind,
I'd like to grant this little girl,
A bright and active mind.
When all the baby angels had,
Granted their wishes so fine,
Their father spoke unto them,
Just left to give is mine.
To this unborn child I grant,
The precious gift to live,
And on her I bestow my love,
the best gift I can give.
With that our heavenly father,
Gathered the blessings fair,
Merged them all together,
And sealed them with a prayer.
The baby angels went to sleep,
The lord had finished his talk,
He took the precious bundle ,
And gave it to the stork.
She took the parcel in her beak,
Labelled "handle with care",
Thanked the mighty creator,
And flew down the golden stair.
She knew just where to go,
She'd had her orders clear,
And when she flew back empty beaked,
She wiped away a tear.
The date was March 8th,
When 3 years ago today,
A special child was born,
Her name? "why Georgia May"
Of course!
