Hi, I'm a new member & a new puppy owner!

Hi All,
I've just been surfing the net, wasting time while my husband plays on the Xbox! Came across this site, and thought it might be good to have contact with people who are dog lovers, dog owners & quite possibly have much more experience than I do of raising a puppy!
My name is Gemma (Gem), and last Saturday we brought home our new pup, Gizmo. He is now 12 weeks old, a Springer/Cocker cross & he is an absolute star!
Yes, he's ripped up my flower bed (luckily gardening isnt my strong point!), tried chewing table legs, chair legs, lego, and the list goes on...he's also had me up at 3am, 4am, 6am!
Today we had to revisit the vets for the second time this week, because he started weeing constantly, and sometimes would look like he was straining but getting nowhere - turns out he has a touch of cystitis. I was so anxious about it, it took me back to when my son was a baby & as a new Mum, I was overly anxious about the slightest thing!
Despite all this, he IS a star! He is very gentle, loving, amazingly obedient, has learned to sit, retrieve (most of the time!) and hardly had any accidents, all in the space of 6 days....my husband and I are waiting for 'the' change!!! The moment when our worst fears about getting a puppy are realised....anyone know if this is likely to happen??
I have lots to teach him, so I'm going to be looking on here for hints and tips on training, including lead walking, and coming back when we get out on proper walks!
Look forward to chatting!
