Hello maplecottage,

The best combi boilers are Vaillant Boilers and Worcester Boilers. Really speaking, buying a good boiler is a very big task. You must first contact the GAS SAFE Register Gas engineers and they will suggest the best one to suit your house. At Plumb Traders you can get the best advice on all types of boilers and radiators for your home.

PlumbTraders is a newly lauched online store which sell all types of boilers, radiators, towel warmer and all the heating and plumbing products.

We paid a technician £50 + to tell us it was broken

So we are looking to get this replaced with a combi.

Does anyone know of reliable combi brands as I've heard that they can be quite difficult to fix. And what do you think the cost to get a combi and installation should be round about?

Thanks
go for a Baxi or a Worcester Bosch. I used to be in the trade, and these are the most reliable.
