Thank you. I was beginning to wonder if all new members were greeted with such hostility. I can not see anywhere where I have 'bashed' the breed in the slightest, I was merely taking an interest in health issues and even thanked Sansorrella for their honesty.

I was just very suprised that they were not going to submit all plates, as normally breed clubs encourage all plates to be submitted, but this was a follow on to the original question, which I really can't see why anyone would have an issue with.

No no, I'm not saying you've "bashed" the breed just that others have and it's been going on for a few days now! That might explain the resistance in the responses that's all. Ask these questions a week ago and you would've had no problem!

PS. We only beat you if you really step out of line!

Kidding obviously!

Hi there, It's interesting to see the range of opinions about this. I can say from the experience of having a wonderful GSD X malumute (who was a rescued dog and is now 10) and having previously bred a litter with him and our pedigree GSD (by request and fully supported and recommended by our vet to people) they were and still are an absolutely wonderful cross (at least in this instance) but, obviously we were fully aware of what we were doing, and had absolutely no concerns regarding the health or temperament of our animals. All our pups are alive and well adjusted animals, 7 years old, will be 8 later this year. All of them are in good health and every one is still in contact with us. We have previously been asked if we would consider breeding again, as various people (including other vets) have recommended us because of the soundness of the dogs, however our dogs are too old now and we only ever bred the once from them. We have one of the daughters ourselves from the litter and you could not wish for a dog with a better temperment and she is in perfect health. My digital camera is broken but I do have some non digital photos of the pups and their parents and at some date I'm sure I will find a way to post them if anyone is interested. I would back up what other members have already said and urge some caution. Malamutes especially are quite a specialised breed (and oh yes has anyone warned you about their coats)? Nothing but nothing produces so much hair as a malamute when casting, they need some serious grooming, and their size alone makes this a mammoth task!! Anyway I wish you luck, but do make a carefully considered choice.

I actually thought Sansorrella was being very forthcoming with their responses, hence the thanks for their honesty.

''Any one know of any german shepherd x malamutes?''
The thread starter has now found a puppy
so perhaps it is time to close this thread . ***
