Is Crufts a good place to take the kids?

Having never been before, I don't really know what to expect.....

My boys are 5 and 3 and love dogs and William the eldest has asked if he can learn to be a handler....

Any way was planning on going on my own on Saturday but they have now asked if they can come....I don't mind but would they get anything from it?

Thanks

Mel x

Crufts is a good place to go and see lots of dogs however its an absolutely huge place and so be prepared for lots of walking - it can be very tiring.

The other thing I've found (being a little claustrophobic) is that its extremely busy and I have got quite panicked before in the huge crowds - little people who won't be able to see over the heads of people might feel the same.

Its lovely to see the dogs and the shows - the only thing that puts me off is the crowds.

It might be an idea to ensure they have a lightweight buggy they can rest in when they have had enough of all the walking.

There is a very good creche(within the show) that will accomodate youngsters for a limited time, which might be an idea if they need a break from the madness?

Taking a buggy to crufts , may not be a good idea, although people but trying to get through those crowds with a buggy will be a nightmare.

If you have to take a buggy, go early do the shops first and DD (discover dogs) first before the crowds build up.

But "will kids enjoy it" Yes ofcause they will specailly the agility /fly ball and so on.

Have a great day.

Yes I would agree with the shopping early idea - unless you enjoy a scrum
I should have been clearer in my suggestion re the buggy as a place to rest, rather than a mode of transport!

I would put a bell on the buggy! My Mum and I went and we wished we'd had one on her wheelchair
