ODD experience

I have just got back from taking Teagan for a walk round the block.
I have been at work since 5pm, and only finished at 10pm, so it's only right to take her out as she has been in on her own.

Anyway, we were about half way round the block, and I saw a lady walking towards us on the same side of the road. She was walking very slowly, with her arms folded in front of her.

You can't miss me and Teagan...she is fairly big, and lollops about like a fat happy fairy.
We got towards this lady, and Teagan took a step closer to the lady (Teagan didn't even touch her though), who promptly shouted "Bas****!".

I turned around and said "What?"
She said "Bas****"

I was kind of gobsmacked.....
Me: Excuse me?
Lady: Bas****. your dog is Bas****. I dont like dog.
Me (temper getting the better of me): You are a Bas****. She didn't do anything.
Lady: YOU ARE Bas****. I dont like dog.
Me: If you had told me you didn't like dogs, I would have crossed the road.
Lady: You Bas****.
Me: She is only a dog, she doesn't understand that you don't like dogs. She is trying to be friendly.
Lady: F' off!
Me: I'm not a mind reader, if I was, I would have moved away.
Lady: I read your mind
Me:, Ok........ go ahead (walking away....)
Lady: Bas****. F' off!

Should she have been in a public place unsupervised?
How unnerving for you - hope you are not too shaken up, I would be!

The lady?
There was nothing wrong with her...she was Chinese/Taiwanese....didn't speak good english!

I was a bit angry at first...now just laughing!

Poor Teagan! She had no idea why this woman was shouting!

If someone tells me they are scared/don't like dogs (which does happen), I move away, but otherwise, I carry on walking my dog!

I tried to be nice and explain, but she didnt want to know!

Doesn't sound like the lady is quite right.

well don't bother in future ....... god help her if she met ours at night.

I can understand how you feel - when I walk Benji down to school in the afternoons there are some older Asian children that attend the junior school and they have to pass us when we are walking back up the hill again. You should see the wide berth that they give Benji and then the oldest one shouts out 'Evil' to him. Now what's evil about a cute white fluffy dog that loves children and doesn't mind them all grabbing at him as they are passing

poor teagan...how can anyone not love her!!!!

Next time you see her tell her
"I spoke to the dog and she dont like you either!"
