Rehoming Buster
We are looking to rehome Buster, a GSD/Akita, 3 year old neutered male. Buster is very gentle natured with people and although he is fine with our female GSD/malamute he does not take to every dog.
We got Buster around 3 months ago and all seemed fine, however as our female is only 11 months old she is very boisterous and reluctant to leave him alone the majority of the time. Although he doesn't react particularly badly to this we don't feel its fair to him to be constantly badgered by her. When we got Buster he was quite underweight and we think because of this he is quite controlling with his food.
On walks he is very strong on the lead, but is improving with the use of a kumfi (similar to a halti). He's very nervy when he's out walking of everything and is constantly alert but we feel this could improve with the right handler and the right amount of walks.
We feel he would need to be an only dog, preferably in an area which has space for walking where he may not encounter too many other dogs as they distress him. The best of him comes through when he is on his own as he is a very loving dog, and he loves the attention of humans. We are reluctant to rehome him but a recent bereavement leaves us with little alternative as our free time has significantly diminished as a result.
We're in York but would be willing to consider travelling a reasonable distance to rehome him with the right person/people. If you can help or know of anyone that can help please don't hesitate to contact us. I've attached some pictures of him below.
