New to Dogsey and to dogs

Hi everyone. I am just registering to this forum. I you notice some spelling or grammatical mistakes, it's because my first language is French.

I will be getting my first dog on Saturday. He's a pure bred chihuahua registered with CCC in Canada. I will be driving from Ottawa to Quebec to get my boy.

I am really excited about this and am currently working on making my house safe for such a small dog. I am also very terrified as I have never had a dog before and don't really know how to train him.

I am reading a lot to find some advice, one of my friends have 4 dogs so she will help me. She found an excellent trainer who will be working with my dog and myself.

I am looking forward to read more on the forum and maybe make some new friends here.

My dog's name is going to be Sawyer, named after the character of James Sawyer Ford from the tv show LOST.
