Old threads being brought up...

Do you think we should get rid of the 'similar threads' feature? As it seems quite a few 'old' threads are being posted in bringing them back to the top... some of these are quite old..

What do you think?

I think ditch the similar threads because we can always 'search' for stuff if we need it

Why not, give a thread 30 days of 'air time' and after this-it gets deleted.Any threads which are long term topics, could be pinned as permanent.

I think that is a good idea but I also think board operators like to have humungous numbers of postings totted up on the opening page. Pinning or archiving old stuff, so it could still be searched (perhaps the search screen yould ask if you only want current threads or want to search the archive????) sounds a good compromise.

I dunno :smt102 Not techno-clever enough to know what I do and don't want but I do think the old posts are annoying/useless/potentially embarrassing.

Couldnt they be locked as Graeme suggested?? That way they are still there to be looked at...

Its very confusing having these old threads brought up...
