So sorry Thor didn't work out. Where small children are concerned though you really can't be too careful and so you did the right thing - and it is great that Thor has found the right type of home to suit him.

In your situation, I think I would probably be looking at introducing a puppy rather than an older dog who hasn't had experience with small children.

Of course you are allowed to feel disheartened, but just chalk it down to experience.

I can't send you a PM for some reason, but if you are considering another GSD puppy I know of a planned litter for this summer. They will be high drive but should also be sociable and strong nerved. If you are interested let me know and I will provide the details.

Thanks Moobli 😊 I knew with Harris being so comfortable with dogs (maybe too much at times) if Thor wasn't happy with him just being around he wouldn't like it when he was focused on him. I keep thinking a puppy too just to be on the safe side and do the training and socialisation our way.

Just disheartened that I seem to keep hitting hurdles

Due to past abuse, PMs are now only available for Supporting Members.

Go ahead and post details of the litter in the thread, it's on topic.

Yes but only a very small scale/hobby breeder of working line dogs.
