Blood results.

Had my blood results today, everything is fine except that I have a high Cholesterol. No surprise there
Came away with a diet sheet and thought heres a good excuse to loose weight.
Can you guess what I am doing?.............I'm sat here eating a packet of crisps
Sorry but I had this overwhelming urge, I will start tomorrow, honestly, seriously I know how important it is.

Glad the results were mostly good Jenny. My mum's cholesterol is high too and she eats really well. You have to have the odd treat now and again. xx

I hope they're those Walker's "Lights" and not the normal crisps Jen that you're busy munching your way through????!!!

My cholesterol used to be high, it was 8 which is very high, then I got it down to 6 by not eating the fat off a pork chop which I love! I can't take the cholesterol lowering drugs either, coz they all play havoc with my liver, BUT, when I saw a specialist doc at the hospital last time, he said although my cholesterol was quite high (at 6), he said he had never seen so much "good" cholesterol in his life, and in fact, it was THAT which was keeping me alive, so why would I want to lower mine???! Ask your doc to give you a breakdown of the HDL (good) and the LDL (bad) I think I got that the right way around! Lol! and put those crisps down you naughty woman!!!!

My sentiments exactly

H mine is an overall of 7 which is high, but my "good" cholesterol is very high too which was my saving grace (ya know smoker and all that )
Yeh I love the fat off pork chops, all crispy...........and chicken skin...........and pork crackling.
Is life worth living?
I know, I know, if I give up smoking my cholesterol will come down. One day, one day

Make sure they actually look at what cholesterol is high and just don't go by the number.

I had cholesterol of 5.1 and was scowled at by the nurse (the nasty nurse who disapproves of anyone overweight and with any vice whatsoever ).

So.... I lost almost 6 stone..... had a benecol drink everyday...... ate nothing at all over 10%fat, and most was fat free.... ate 3 sensible meals a day, fruit, veg, oily fish, etc..... and didn't drink alcohol.

Did this for about 9 months.

The result?
I get sent a diet sheet in the post as my blood test shows my cholesterol is now 6.2!

So, I chatted to my gp about it, who looked at the actual cholesterol breakdown and says my good cholesterol is very high and in fact I have a less than 1% chance of heary problems with that, and as he says you can't get beter than that. So don't worry about it too much.... esp as stress won't do your number any good either!
