Cornwall Beaches?

Hey guys,

Since the OH is having many trips abroad including Canada and California (fair enough he'll be working but he gets a week or so R&R there after the two+ weeks), I am allowed to pick the holiday this year.

So I choose Cornwall - mainly because you meanies have being making me jealous with all the photos of your lovely beaches. We're not sure when we'd be going but what are the rules about dogs on the beaches. Like in Mablethorpe dogs aren't allowed on a particular beach from May- Sept..

Also which beaches are the best, I'm looking to rent a cottage but the search engine wants to know if I want to go to the north, south or east.. I'm confused?

Thanks

We were in Cornwall in October. We did 2 different beaches everyday with Molly. I'm absolutely useless remembering place names so I'll quiz my OH when he gets home. We stayed in a holiday home between Looe and Polperro, really central so easy to explore!

We go to Seaton most days...I like it as like many of the beaches it has fresh water running into it , so you can let the Dogs rinse before being dried.
Also has a Dog friendly Cafe.
The other one we go to is Par Beach...also has fresh water & free parking.

Anywhere around the Lizard Peninsula is the prettiest IMO. Last time I stopped in Looe and TBH, we never bothered stopping in North Cornwall, we travelled a fair few miles each day to go further South where the scenery was a bit more dramatic.

I think most of the beaches in Cornwall are going to be governed by 'no dog' rules since the area has a good reputation to uphold.

I've got a CD full of photos if you want to borrow it and look through, help you decide on a particular area.

The beaches around Padstow are very dog friendly, teeming with dogs in fact...but it's very busy, not great if you're looking for something more secluded.
