Supplements

As the title says really. Should I be adding supplements to Rangers food now that he's on a raw diet? As I get most of my meat from the butchers I don't really know what most of it is A mix of meaty chunks, bones, skin, fat etc with offal and such mixed in. He get fish and carrots during the week as treats too. Is this adequate or do I need to give extra?

Mine just have salmon oil and glucosamine and chondroitin, I give them a garlic clove every day as well, I know that is not a supplement but they have it anyway

I think it depends on what you mean by supplements.

Some people like myself would supplement a commercial diet as well as a raw one as we believe that our dogs are individuals and they may have special needs especially if they are performance animals which many of us believe can benefit from these.

Some supplements are also to support the aging process etc.

FWIW

As well as a very varied diet which includes vegetables, fruits and herbs etc I also give

Chondroitin
Glucosamine
MSM
Vitamin E
Fish Body Oil
Vitamin C
Green Lipped Mussel
Cetyl-M
Rosehip
Royal Jelly
Probiotics
garlic
Keepers Mix
Easygreen

is 200mg a recommended dose or is there not such a thing as a recommended dose when it comes to Q10? Havent been able to find anything on doses apart from 'mice were ok when we gave then 1200mg for 2 months' in human tests. If found a 'dog specific' tablet (30mg) but the only thing i think that made it dog specific was the fact it was beef flavour!

Lew Olson reckons on 1 - 2 mg daily per pound of dog's body weight.
